Death City Boyz – Bopsey Twins

Snowflake (US) [SNO 600] 1985

The Death City Boyz from Hell’s Kitchen, NY, were Andrew Welsh, Fareed Abdallah and John Lindsay with their DJ, Professor Paul. This was their only release and was edited by legendary producer, remixer and “edit king” Omar Santana. It also appears to be the first track to feature input from legendary techno and house DJ, Frankie Bones.

Andrews and Fareed (Reed) later appeared as members of the freestyle group Spirit Matter and were produced by Tommy Musto and Frankie Bones aka Musto & Bones. Professor Paul also co-wrote the hip hop track “Back Rappin” by ESP in 1987.

The promo and official release versions of this track are exactly the same but there are two different test pressings – one is the same but the other only has three tracks and omits the short version. There are no track times on the alternate version so it’s assumed they’re the same as printed on the general release.
