Drum Machine – Drum Machine

Jayco Records (US) [JC-001] 1982

Jay Burnett aka Burzootie aka Drum Machine recorded this track for his very own label, Jayco Records in 1982. It was the only release on the label. He’d previously worked with Arthur Baker as an engineer on Bambaataa’s “Planet Rock” and it’s his vocals you hear saying “Rock, rock the planet rock, don’t stop”.

This track was sampled by the Beastie Boys on “Beastie Groove” and re-made by Jay as Burzootie featuring the vocals of MCA in 1985 for Def Jam.
