Funky Constellation – Street Talk (Madam Rapper)

Funky Constellation (US) [369] 1979

Funky Constellation was a group put together by producer Ted Osaze aka Teddy Hayes. It was engineered by Claude Watts who also mixed ‘The Micstro’ by Radiance and featured on the Ultimate Breaks & Beats series, Volume 7.

There are a couple of label variations for this release which are pictured below. The original release was on Funky Constellation and had no track times on the label. It was issued in a generic white sleeve with pasted artwork which is pictured above. It was also pressed the same year on Rota Enterprises Ltd and included track times. As far as I know this version was issued in just a generic sleeve with no artwork.

Side A

  1. My friend Teddy Hayes (aka T. Osaze) produced this song and worked with Russell Simmons, Quincy Jones, The Brothers Johnson, Melvin Van Peebles and Roberta Flack during the seventies…he now lives in Lodon and you can listen to an interview he did last year where he mentions this song
