Chique Records (US) [CQ 1084] 1984
Jazz, R&B performer Rodney Stepp emerged onto the music in the early 1960’s as part of the high school ensemble, The Diplomatics. They released an obscure dance track called “Hum Bug” which has been sample fodder for various hip hop producers. The track was also re-released on Egon’s Now-Again Records in 2003.
After serving as a keyboardist for The Spinners and performing with various artists he helped form a new group called Rapture before releasing this electro funk, vocoder track in 1984 produced by himself and Calvin Pendleton.
