Alfonso (Alfonso Ribeiro) first gained recognition when he played the lead role in the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid. He also appeared as a dancer in Pepsi’s 1984 commercial featuring Michael Jackson and then landed a role in the TV series Silver Spoons. In 1985 he wrote a dance instruction book called Breakin’ And Poppin’ With Alfonso Ribeiro. His most famous role, however, was between 1990-1996 as Will Smith‘s cousin in The Fresh Of Bel-Air. Following this role, he appeared on TV numerous times and even went on to win season 19 of Dancing With The Stars.

Back to his recording career. He released a handful of singles featuring production from the likes of Sly & Robbie and Maurice Starr but in 1986 it was his final single Time Bomb produced by Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa that blew up. It was a rap, freestyle, electro crossover track and featured the uncredited chorus vocals from Jimi Tunnel and the rapping talents of Eddie Ferguson. Rap consultant was M² (Matt Senatore), not to be confused with Mr. Magic.

Eddie ‘Kaos’ Ferguson went on to release singles in the group Hostyle with Matt ‘Ammo’ Senatore and George ‘Homicide’ Taylor.
