Trickeration – Rap, Bounce, Rockskate

Sound Of New York (US) [S.N.Y. 4001] 1980

Classic disco rap track sampling Vaughan Mason’s “Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll” from 1979.

Trickeration were Basic and Disco Rock and were originally members of the Outlaw Four and this was their only release as a group.

There are a couple of label variations for this release, both distinguishable by the slightly different catalogue numbers. Judging by the catalogue number, after comparing it with other S.O.N.Y. releases, it appears that the first pressing was S.O.N.Y. 4001 followed by S.N.Y. 4001. There is also a test pressing from Peter Pan Industries which is dated a year later, 1981. It’s purely guess work but it’s possible the second pressing, although dated 1980, was actually released in 1981.

All versions play the same both sides and have both sides labeled as Side 1.
