Tricky Tee – Who’s In Town? (feat. The White Shadow of Norway) [Running Man Records RMR-001]
Running Man Records – a new labour of love project from vinyl fiend, DJ Benny Ben (aka Ben Sims), focusing on putting out previously unreleased and rare Hip Hop / Electro from the 80s and 90s. All licenced and above-board material by heroes and legends of the scene, strictly for the connoisseurs and completist collectors out there.
The first release is a raw cassette demo from Tricky Tee and The White Shadow of Norway, recorded in NYC in ’91 and never released until now.
Tricky Tee began his career in the 1980s as a member of the hip-hop group Just Four and is probably best known for his solo work, including tracks like “Johnny the Fox” and “Leave It to the Drums,” which showcase his contributions to the early hip-hop scene. His music is characterized by its classic 1980s hip-hop style, featuring rhythmic beats and socially conscious lyrics. Although not as widely recognized as some of his contemporaries, Tricky Tee remains a respected figure among hip-hop enthusiasts for his authentic representation of the genre’s formative years.
Limited Picture Sleeve of 150 copies includes insert with an exclusive interview with both Tricky Tee & The White Shadow Of Norway.
