Automation

Members:

Andy Sojka (R.I.P.), Garry Hughes

Automation were a session group consisting of some members of UK jazz funk group, Atmosfear, plus some lesser known musicians.

They first appeared with an electro cover version of Atmosfear’s 1979 jazz funk classic, ‘Dancing In Outer Space’. The release was flipped with the debut appearance on vinyl by the UK’s Family Quest and featuring an uncredited DJ Fingers on the cut, former member of The Mixmasters and The Sindecut.

Their second and only other release was an electro cover version of the Deodato classic from 1972, itself, a cover version based on the original Strauss classical composition.
