In 2023, Big Crown Records released the hugely successful collaborative album, ‘Glorious Game’ by El Michels Affair and Black Thought.
Hip-hop’s appeal has tended to be its sample-based production so instead of submitting live compositions for Black Thought to rap over, Leon Michels attacked the project in two ways; using his own recorded material but then sampling himself and chopping/looping his own productions to create the instrumentals, sampling other artists materials but adding live instrumentation on top.
Now for 2024, Big Crown Records present ‘Glorious Game Instrumentals’ on blood smoke vinyl.
